I have been a part of the Meadow Point community for six years. I originally was not intending to be a board member but as life changed so drastically I wanted front row to see what was happening in the school and how can I better support the transition for my kids. I found being involved in ptco gave me a better understanding to help me know where and when and how to advocate for my kids. I was also looking forward to being a part of planning the dance, I like to party plan! I found myself in a leadership role and shifted advocating for not just my student to seeking the communities needs for their students, as well. I started to focus more on creating relationships and partnering with staff to navigate our fundraising goals to best support the whole Meadow Point community. I have had the honor to be a part of the PTCO Board going into my fourth year as president. I am thankful to be a part of this community and I can't wait to see what we can do to make a difference next year!

I joined PTCO because I believe it takes a village to support our kids at school. We all have to work together to help our kids and teachers thrive and I strongly believe everyone brings a unique perspective to this important conversation! I can lean on my professional experience in event planning and adult education to contribute to PTCO events and organizational details. And, I lean into my kids voices and experiences to help prioritize the PTCO efforts. We can only expect to get out of our education system the effort and passion that we are willing to personally put into it, and I am grateful/privileged to be in a place currently to allow me to make personal contributions.

When we moved here my oldest was starting 2nd grade. I started going to PTCO meetings to learn more about the school and community. I have met so many great people, both parents and school staff. It definitely makes me feel more connected to our community. I love being able to help support our teachers and kids through fundraising and fun events. When a board position opened up I happily joined to help give back to our school community and stay connected.
